Committed to our Community

Get to know Tanya

I have been a resident of Willoughby for over 20 years.  My three children were born here and have all attended local schools – Willoughby Community Pre-School, Willoughby Public School, and Willoughby Girls High School.  My husband operates our small family business from Willoughby.

I am very much involved in our wonderful community and in 2020 I was honoured to have my volunteer work recognised as Willoughby City Council’s ‘Citizen of the Year’.  I am former President of the Willoughby Public School P&C and the Willoughby Community Special Needs Preschool Committee.  I am current Assistant Group Leader at 1st Sailors Bay Sea Scouts, supporting young people in their social, physical, intellectual, character, emotional and spiritual development.

With six years working in local government at the City of Sydney and over 20 years of experience as an event manager, I am skilled at leading people and helping organisations to connect, learn, develop and thrive. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Community Development, enhancing my skills and knowledge to become a better community advocate.

My family, including our two Jack Russell Terriers, love spending time outdoors, especially on our local bushwalking tracks, beautiful bays and open parklands.

I have a reputation as someone who is community focused, innovative and organized. I am committed to being an active advocate for the residents of Middle Harbour Ward.

I have long aspired to serve in local government and am excited and I was honoured to be popularly voted in as the Mayor of Willoughby City Council in 2021.
